Oriel’s clear spot UV varnish service produces outstanding high gloss effects that leap off the print and adds value to any product. Business cards and packaging are really benefitting from the high build and tactile effects created by our Scodix machine. Unlike traditional spot UV varnish, this print enhancement can print tints and solids in one pass whilst ensuring registration accuracy using the on board camera system. Our software automatically tweaks the artwork to fit every single sheet and the height of the varnish and gloss level blows away the competition.

Minimal setup is all that’s required to produce stunning effects across a wide range of materials. Our machine can print sheets of paper, board and plastics such as Polypropylene, PET, together with laminated products, like foil board or self-adhesive vinyl, all in its stride. Being a digital process, this print enhancement can offer variable data and therefore have different artwork on each sheet during production. This spot polymer can also be used as an alternative to conventional embossing, known as digital embossing, which saves having a deboss in the reverse of the sheet, great for front covers!
